Minimally invasive surgery

Dermatologic surgery in the Midlands

We correct a variety of skin problems with innovative surgical procedures

With medical advancements, the majority of dermatologic surgeries are now minimally invasive and only require local anesthesia.

The skilled physicians at the Columbia Skin Clinic provide superior patient safety while using the latest technologies to help minimize recovery time.

Clinical Surgery

When necessary, our board-certified dermatologists can use surgical methods to eliminate skin issues and improve the skin’s appearance.

Patients with skin cancers, birthmarks, moles, warts, age or liver spots, wrinkles, cysts, scars or actinic keratoses should schedule a consultation to determine if dermatologic surgery is right for them.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is an eyelid surgery where excess folds of skin in the upper lids and pouches under the eye (lower lids) are removed. This procedure may be performed on one or both eyelids to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Surgery on the upper eyelids can remove excess fat and improve vision, while surgery on the lower eyelid can remove excess skin and tighten the eyelid.

As with most medical procedures bruising and swelling are normal side effects. However, blepharoplasty is known for its short recovery time, and patients can use a cold compress to reduce swelling. Most patients return to daily activities after ten days, and by two weeks the patient should be fully recovered.
