Dr. Bruton graduated summa cum laude from the Honors College at the University of South Carolina. She received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduated as first honor graduate. Dr. Bruton completed her residency in dermatology at the Medical University of South Carolina where she served as chief resident.
